Here\u2019s what we recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Keep \u2019em cool &amp; hydrated<\/strong><br>Always provide fresh, cool water and offer ice cubes as fun, cooling treats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Safe shade matters<\/strong><br>Ensure pets can access shaded areas, especially during hottest hours (12\u20134\u202fpm).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protect those paws<\/strong><br>Pavements can scorch tender pads\u2014test surfaces with the back of your hand before walks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid midday walks<\/strong><br>Stick to early morning or evening strolls to dodge peak temperatures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Watch for signs of overheating<\/strong><br>Look out for heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting\u2014cool them gently and call your vet ASAP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cool bedding &amp; mats<\/strong><br>Consider cooling mats or damp towels for dogs and cats to lie on indoors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Never leave pets in cars<\/strong><br>Even a few minutes can be deadly.
