For severe bleeding, use a tourniquet (only as a last resort) and get veterinary help immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Know How to Perform CPR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your pet is <strong>not breathing<\/strong>, perform <strong>CPR<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Treat Burns Carefully<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>heat burns<\/strong>, <strong>cool the area<\/strong> with cold water for <strong>5-10 minutes<\/strong>, then cover it with a <strong>non-stick dressing<\/strong>. For <strong>chemical burns<\/strong>, rinse the area thoroughly and contact your vet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Handle Fractures with Care<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep your pet as <strong>still as possible<\/strong>. If necessary, <strong>gently immobilise<\/strong> the limb with a <strong>splint<\/strong> (rolled-up newspaper or padded board) and seek veterinary care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recognise Signs of Poisoning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Symptoms of poisoning include <strong>vomiting, drooling, tremors, and difficulty breathing<\/strong>. If you suspect poisoning, call your vet <strong>immediately<\/strong> and avoid inducing vomiting unless instructed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Know How to Handle Choking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your pet is <strong>choking<\/strong>, check their mouth for visible objects and remove them carefully. If they are still choking, perform the <strong>Heimlich manoeuvre<\/strong> (sharp thrusts to the belly) and seek urgent vet care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Manage Heatstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Signs include <strong>panting, drooling, and weakness<\/strong>. Move your pet to a <strong>cool area<\/strong>, apply cool water (not ice-cold), and give small amounts of water to drink. <strong>Seek emergency vet help ASAP.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Handle Seizures Safely<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your pet has a <strong>seizure<\/strong>, do NOT try to hold them down. <strong>Remove nearby objects<\/strong> to prevent injury and <strong>time the seizure<\/strong>.
